Infinity v1.19 Release overview:
This release includes minor enhancements and fixes, including the ability to open pdf CVs in word from the Infinity candidate page.
Please note, iCapture will no longer store a ‘CV/email’ blended rtf version of the CV. Please see Enhancement 44789 below if the ‘rtf’ CV is used to open PDF CVs. From Word 2013 onwards it is now possible to open these CVs in word. (See enhancement 46238)
Enhancement 44789/48893 iCapture has been made more efficient by not storing multiple versions of the same CV
iCapture posts the CV & Email (where relevant) to Infinity
iCapture will no longer post a blended ‘cv/email’ rtf version of the CV.
This makes iCapture more efficient in the bandwidth it uses (particularly important in a SaaS environment), and also stores fewer attachments which also saved room on the hard drive.
The ‘Set original CV as primary’ tick box in the outlook/exchange data source has been removed as it is no longer relevant. The other options are kept as they are used by the CV parser.
The rtf version of the CV is sometimes used, when the original CV is a PDF and a PDF editor is not available. If CVs are sent in pdf format, then it is possible to open them in word from word 2013 onwards. See Enhancement 46238 below.
If you have word 2010 and receive CVs in pdf format, please ensure you read Enhancement 44789 & 46238 carefully and confirm you are happy with the new functionality before proceeding with an upgrade.
Enhancement 46238 Option to open and edit Infinity .pdf CVs in word 2013 onwards
Word 2013 onwards supports the editing of pdf files.
Infinity has been enhanced to allow CVs on the candidate page to be opened in word, if they are a pdf.
This requires the user option ‘Enable editing of PDF CVs in Word 2013 or later’ to be on.
If this user option is off, CVs will continue to be opened in their associated application e.g. adobe reader.
If this user option is on, pdf CVs will be opened in word (provided word 2013 or above is installed)
By default, this option is off.
Note: The first time a pdf is opened in word; a pop up appears.
‘Word will now convert your PDF to an editable Word document. This may take a while. The resulting Word document will be optimized to allow you to edit the text, so it might not look exactly like the original PDF, especially if the original file contained lots of graphics.’
Note: In a terminal server environment, the Word pop up may not automatically appear. To solve this issue, opened a pdf in word outside of Infinity, and tick the tick box ‘Don’t show this message again’. The next time a pdf is opened in Word using Infinity, the pop-up will no longer appear and word will open the pdf.
Enhancement 41814 SaaS reports now available from lists and main pages
List and main page reports previously only available on premise, are now also available for SaaS.
These are available from the following screens:
- Candidate list
- Contact list
- Job list
- Placement list
- Candidate main page
- Contact main page
These run as one-off scheduled reports as per other SaaS reports.
List reports have options to report on ‘All’ or ‘Tagged’. The ‘Selected’ option is not available for SaaS.
Enhancement 48455/44987/48495/48496 Recurrence has been removed from Temp Jobs and has been replaced with ‘Shift Name’ paint functionality
Recurrence removed
- Recurrence has been removed from the Temps Job Shift Calendar
- Recurrence continues to be available from the Candidate Availability Calendar.
Shift names added
- In the ‘Global Temp Defaults’ tab of the administration screen, a ‘Shift Name’ option has been added to allow ‘Shift Names’ to be created, and the shift Start Time & End Time to be added. (as shown above)
- When adding shifts to a Temp Job/Placement, these can be easily added by selecting the Shift Name from the drop-down and clicking in the relevant date cell in the Calendar.
- If no ‘Shift Name’ reference data exists, a default shift is used (9.00 to 5.00)
- Once ‘Shift Names’ have been created, the default shift is no longer available, which allows users to have complete control of the shifts listed.
Enhancement 46818 Quals & Certs validation to happen upon data entry and not upon save
Validation occurs as soon as you exit a cell, so you know where the validation problem lies.
Enhancement 48066 Back Office export Service is now multi-tenanted and logs as per other services
Enhancement 47369 Caching for Services
Services are utilising the Redis cache for Person objects
